TOM DIXON

Openly and proudly self-taught, with the spirit of an amateur and the talent of a great designer. This is Tom Dixon, a nonconformist with a concrete and solid style, defined as “vertebral” by critics for his attention to the structure of the object. Always ready to subvert certainties in the name of curiosity, Tom Dixon began with a fascination for welding and metals to then be catapulted into design and artistic direction for major international brands, after which he took the plunge and founded his own brand. In 2002, Dixon established his eponymous company that handles every step in the design process, from production to distribution to marketing, in a manner reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement of the late nineteenth century or the spirit of Bauhaus. Tied to the metals of his beginnings but always searching for something new, his work has scaled the peaks of fame, from a passion for recycled materials to the halls of the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the MoMA in New York.
